Matt Thornton is the Co-founder and President of Taproot Capital. Previously he was a Managing Director in the Harris Williams Private Capital Advisory Group, focused on leading a full range of primary fund solutions as Head of Distribution. He has more than 20 years in investment banking and has advised public pension funds, insurance companies, family offices/endowments, fund of funds, and diversified institutional investors on investing in various types of private equity and alternative investments. Prior experience includes managing the equity business of global bulge bracket investment banks.

Mr. Thornton holds a B.S. in Economics from Denison University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Mr. Thornton is based in Chicago.
